Deirdre Maine is a Franco-American glass artist working exclusively with salvaged wine bottle glass
to create sustainably produced contemporary jewelry in her home studio.
Based in the heart of Burgundy's wine growing region, Nuits-Saint-Georges, France, Deirdre salvages
herraw material directly from the endless supply of bottles generated by local wineries.
Using traditional cold working, kilnforming and flameworking glass techniques, this unconventional material
is reimagined in a new context, reexamining our perceptions of value and waste while celebrating the culture
of her adopted home.
